  28. photographs, programmes and the technology described, which are protected by
  29. the provisions of national and international law applying to intellectual
  30. property.
  31. These textual data and multimedia items are the exclusive property either of
  32. the European Union represented by the European Parliament and/or of their
  33. authors and beneficiaries. The intellectual property right holders waive their
  34. right to have their name or any other indication appear on the items which
  35. they supply for this website.
  36. The user undertakes to respect the intellectual property rights held by the
  37. European Union and third parties without prejudice to the rights and
  38. exceptions provided for by any binding provisions.
  39. As a general rule, the reuse (reproduction or use) of textual data and
  40. multimedia items which are the property of the European Union (identified by
  41. the words “© European Union, [year(s)] – Source: European Parliament” or “©
  42. European Union, [year(s)] – EP”) or of third parties (© External source,
  43. [year(s)]), and for which the European Union holds the rights of use, is
  44. authorised, for personal use or for further non-commercial or commercial
  45. dissemination, provided that the entire item is reproduced and the source is
  46. acknowledged. However, the reuse of certain data may be subject to different
  47. conditions in some instances; in this case, the item concerned is accompanied
  48. by a mention of the specific conditions relating to it.
  49. Any partial reproduction of data or multimedia items from this website must
  50. also cite the URL link of the complete item or the web page from which it was
  51. sourced.
  52. The user undertakes not to delete or change the indications of the author or
  53. the source and not to seek to circumvent the technical measures put in place
  54. to protect documents and multimedia items, such as print or download
  55. restrictions and visible or invisible tagging. Any infringement may lead to
  56. civil and criminal proceedings.
  57. Translations of texts or documents into languages other than the official
  58. language versions displayed on the website are authorised subject to the
  59. condition that due acknowledgement is given at a suitably prominent place,
  60. followed by an appropriate disclaimer, both translated into the relevant
  61. language:
  62. “Translated from the original [specify the language] version published by the
  63. European Union on the following website [specify the URL] : '© European Union,
  64. [year(s)] - Source: European Parliament”; or '© European Union, [year(s)] EP',

  75. * DCEP Digital Corpus of the European Parliament Usage Conditions (26/3/2021):
  76. https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/language-technologies/dcep
  77. Usage Conditions
  78. I. Intellectual property and conditions of use of data
  79. The DCEP data is the exclusive property of the European Parliament. The
  80. Parliament cedes its non-exclusive rights free of charge and world-wide for
  81. research purposes for the entire duration of the protection of those rights to
  82. the re-user.
  83. Any re-use of the data or of the structured elements contained in it is
  84. required to be identified by the re-user, who is under an obligation to state
  85. the source of the documents used: the website address, the date of the latest
  86. update and the fact that the European Parliament retains ownership of the
  87. data.
  88. II. Conditions for use of software
  89. The DCEP data is distributed with the software necessary for its
  90. exploitation/extraction. Use of such software must be carried out in
  91. accordance with the conditions laid down in the EUPL license.
  92. III. Responsibility
  93. The data and the accompanying software are made available, without any
  94. guarantee, explicit or tacit. The Parliament cannot be held responsible for
  95. any loss, injury or damage the re-user may suffer due to the re-use. The
  96. Parliament does not however guarantee the absence of any irregularities which
  97. may be present in the data, within the structured data they contain or the
  98. software itself. The Parliament does not guarantee the on-going distribution
  99. of said data and software.
  100. The Parliament cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage
  101. caused to third parties as a result of the re-use. The re-user shall bear sole
  102. responsibility for the re-use of the data collection, the structured elements
  103. it contains and the software. Re-use must not mislead third parties in respect
  104. of the contents of the data and the structured elements it contains, the
  105. source of the contents or the date of the last update thereto. This disclaimer
  106. is not intended to limit the liability of the Parliament in violation of any
  107. requirements laid down in applicable national law or to exclude its liability
  108. in cases where this is not permitted by the applicable law.
  109. * Europarl corpus terms of use (26/3/2021):

  113. this data in your research, please contact pkoehn@inf.ed.ac.uk. Please let us
  114. know if you find problems with the data or if you want the data for other
  115. language pairs. We recommend using the last quarter of 2000 for testing
  116. (2000-10 until 2000-12) for consistency in reporting research results on this

  125. Creative Commons Corporation ("Creative Commons") is not a law firm and
  126. does not provide legal services or legal advice. Distribution of
  127. Creative Commons public licenses does not create a lawyer-client or
  128. other relationship. Creative Commons makes its licenses and related
  129. information available on an "as-is" basis. Creative Commons gives no
  130. warranties regarding its licenses, any material licensed under their
  131. terms and conditions, or any related information. Creative Commons
  132. disclaims all liability for damages resulting from their use to the
  133. fullest extent possible.
  134. Using Creative Commons Public Licenses
  135. Creative Commons public licenses provide a standard set of terms and
  136. conditions that creators and other rights holders may use to share
  137. original works of authorship and other material subject to copyright
  138. and certain other rights specified in the public license below. The
  139. following considerations are for informational purposes only, are not
  140. exhaustive, and do not form part of our licenses.
  141. Considerations for licensors: Our public licenses are
  142. intended for use by those authorized to give the public
  143. permission to use material in ways otherwise restricted by
  144. copyright and certain other rights. Our licenses are
  145. irrevocable. Licensors should read and understand the terms
  146. and conditions of the license they choose before applying it.
  147. Licensors should also secure all rights necessary before
  148. applying our licenses so that the public can reuse the
  149. material as expected. Licensors should clearly mark any
  150. material not subject to the license. This includes other CC-
  151. licensed material, or material used under an exception or
  152. limitation to copyright. More considerations for licensors:
  153. wiki.creativecommons.org/Considerations_for_licensors
  154. Considerations for the public: By using one of our public
  155. licenses, a licensor grants the public permission to use the
  156. licensed material under specified terms and conditions. If
  157. the licensor's permission is not necessary for any reason--for
  158. example, because of any applicable exception or limitation to
  159. copyright--then that use is not regulated by the license. Our
  160. licenses grant only permissions under copyright and certain
  161. other rights that a licensor has authority to grant. Use of
  162. the licensed material may still be restricted for other
  163. reasons, including because others have copyright or other
  164. rights in the material. A licensor may make special requests,
  165. such as asking that all changes be marked or described.
  166. Although not required by our licenses, you are encouraged to
  167. respect those requests where reasonable. More considerations
  168. for the public:

  170. =======================================================================
  171. Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License
  172. By exercising the Licensed Rights (defined below), You accept and agree
  173. to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Creative Commons
  174. Attribution 4.0 International Public License ("Public License"). To the
  175. extent this Public License may be interpreted as a contract, You are
  176. granted the Licensed Rights in consideration of Your acceptance of
  177. these terms and conditions, and the Licensor grants You such rights in
  178. consideration of benefits the Licensor receives from making the
  179. Licensed Material available under these terms and conditions.
  180. Section 1 -- Definitions.
  181. a. Adapted Material means material subject to Copyright and Similar
  182. Rights that is derived from or based upon the Licensed Material
  183. and in which the Licensed Material is translated, altered,
  184. arranged, transformed, or otherwise modified in a manner requiring
  185. permission under the Copyright and Similar Rights held by the
  186. Licensor. For purposes of this Public License, where the Licensed
  187. Material is a musical work, performance, or sound recording,
  188. Adapted Material is always produced where the Licensed Material is
  189. synched in timed relation with a moving image.
  190. b. Adapter's License means the license You apply to Your Copyright
  191. and Similar Rights in Your contributions to Adapted Material in
  192. accordance with the terms and conditions of this Public License.
  193. c. Copyright and Similar Rights means copyright and/or similar rights
  194. closely related to copyright including, without limitation,
  195. performance, broadcast, sound recording, and Sui Generis Database
  196. Rights, without regard to how the rights are labeled or
  197. categorized. For purposes of this Public License, the rights
  198. specified in Section 2(b)(1)-(2) are not Copyright and Similar
  199. Rights.
  200. d. Effective Technological Measures means those measures that, in the
  201. absence of proper authority, may not be circumvented under laws
  202. fulfilling obligations under Article 11 of the WIPO Copyright
  203. Treaty adopted on December 20, 1996, and/or similar international
  204. agreements.
  205. e. Exceptions and Limitations means fair use, fair dealing, and/or
  206. any other exception or limitation to Copyright and Similar Rights
  207. that applies to Your use of the Licensed Material.
  208. f. Licensed Material means the artistic or literary work, database,
  209. or other material to which the Licensor applied this Public
  210. License.
  211. g. Licensed Rights means the rights granted to You subject to the
  212. terms and conditions of this Public License, which are limited to
  213. all Copyright and Similar Rights that apply to Your use of the
  214. Licensed Material and that the Licensor has authority to license.
  215. h. Licensor means the individual(s) or entity(ies) granting rights
  216. under this Public License.
  217. i. Share means to provide material to the public by any means or
  218. process that requires permission under the Licensed Rights, such
  219. as reproduction, public display, public performance, distribution,
  220. dissemination, communication, or importation, and to make material
  221. available to the public including in ways that members of the
  222. public may access the material from a place and at a time
  223. individually chosen by them.
  224. j. Sui Generis Database Rights means rights other than copyright
  225. resulting from Directive 96/9/EC of the European Parliament and of
  226. the Council of 11 March 1996 on the legal protection of databases,
  227. as amended and/or succeeded, as well as other essentially
  228. equivalent rights anywhere in the world.
  229. k. You means the individual or entity exercising the Licensed Rights
  230. under this Public License. Your has a corresponding meaning.
  231. Section 2 -- Scope.
  232. a. License grant.
  233. 1. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Public License,
  234. the Licensor hereby grants You a worldwide, royalty-free,
  235. non-sublicensable, non-exclusive, irrevocable license to
  236. exercise the Licensed Rights in the Licensed Material to:
  237. a. reproduce and Share the Licensed Material, in whole or
  238. in part; and
  239. b. produce, reproduce, and Share Adapted Material.
  240. 2. Exceptions and Limitations. For the avoidance of doubt, where
  241. Exceptions and Limitations apply to Your use, this Public
  242. License does not apply, and You do not need to comply with
  243. its terms and conditions.
  244. 3. Term. The term of this Public License is specified in Section
  245. 6(a).
  246. 4. Media and formats; technical modifications allowed. The
  247. Licensor authorizes You to exercise the Licensed Rights in
  248. all media and formats whether now known or hereafter created,
  249. and to make technical modifications necessary to do so. The
  250. Licensor waives and/or agrees not to assert any right or
  251. authority to forbid You from making technical modifications
  252. necessary to exercise the Licensed Rights, including
  253. technical modifications necessary to circumvent Effective
  254. Technological Measures. For purposes of this Public License,
  255. simply making modifications authorized by this Section 2(a)
  256. (4) never produces Adapted Material.
  257. 5. Downstream recipients.
  258. a. Offer from the Licensor -- Licensed Material. Every
  259. recipient of the Licensed Material automatically
  260. receives an offer from the Licensor to exercise the
  261. Licensed Rights under the terms and conditions of this
  262. Public License.
  263. b. No downstream restrictions. You may not offer or impose
  264. any additional or different terms or conditions on, or
  265. apply any Effective Technological Measures to, the
  266. Licensed Material if doing so restricts exercise of the
  267. Licensed Rights by any recipient of the Licensed
  268. Material.
  269. 6. No endorsement. Nothing in this Public License constitutes or
  270. may be construed as permission to assert or imply that You
  271. are, or that Your use of the Licensed Material is, connected
  272. with, or sponsored, endorsed, or granted official status by,
  273. the Licensor or others designated to receive attribution as
  274. provided in Section 3(a)(1)(A)(i).
  275. b. Other rights.
  276. 1. Moral rights, such as the right of integrity, are not
  277. licensed under this Public License, nor are publicity,
  278. privacy, and/or other similar personality rights; however, to
  279. the extent possible, the Licensor waives and/or agrees not to
  280. assert any such rights held by the Licensor to the limited
  281. extent necessary to allow You to exercise the Licensed
  282. Rights, but not otherwise.
  283. 2. Patent and trademark rights are not licensed under this
  284. Public License.
  285. 3. To the extent possible, the Licensor waives any right to
  286. collect royalties from You for the exercise of the Licensed
  287. Rights, whether directly or through a collecting society
  288. under any voluntary or waivable statutory or compulsory
  289. licensing scheme. In all other cases the Licensor expressly
  290. reserves any right to collect such royalties.
  291. Section 3 -- License Conditions.
  292. Your exercise of the Licensed Rights is expressly made subject to the
  293. following conditions.
  294. a. Attribution.
  295. 1. If You Share the Licensed Material (including in modified
  296. form), You must:
  297. a. retain the following if it is supplied by the Licensor
  298. with the Licensed Material:
  299. i. identification of the creator(s) of the Licensed
  300. Material and any others designated to receive
  301. attribution, in any reasonable manner requested by
  302. the Licensor (including by pseudonym if
  303. designated);
  304. ii. a copyright notice;
  305. iii. a notice that refers to this Public License;
  306. iv. a notice that refers to the disclaimer of
  307. warranties;
  308. v. a URI or hyperlink to the Licensed Material to the
  309. extent reasonably practicable;
  310. b. indicate if You modified the Licensed Material and
  311. retain an indication of any previous modifications; and
  312. c. indicate the Licensed Material is licensed under this
  313. Public License, and include the text of, or the URI or
  314. hyperlink to, this Public License.
  315. 2. You may satisfy the conditions in Section 3(a)(1) in any
  316. reasonable manner based on the medium, means, and context in
  317. which You Share the Licensed Material. For example, it may be
  318. reasonable to satisfy the conditions by providing a URI or
  319. hyperlink to a resource that includes the required
  320. information.
  321. 3. If requested by the Licensor, You must remove any of the
  322. information required by Section 3(a)(1)(A) to the extent
  323. reasonably practicable.
  324. 4. If You Share Adapted Material You produce, the Adapter's
  325. License You apply must not prevent recipients of the Adapted
  326. Material from complying with this Public License.
  327. Section 4 -- Sui Generis Database Rights.
  328. Where the Licensed Rights include Sui Generis Database Rights that
  329. apply to Your use of the Licensed Material:
  330. a. for the avoidance of doubt, Section 2(a)(1) grants You the right
  331. to extract, reuse, reproduce, and Share all or a substantial
  332. portion of the contents of the database;
  333. b. if You include all or a substantial portion of the database
  334. contents in a database in which You have Sui Generis Database
  335. Rights, then the database in which You have Sui Generis Database
  336. Rights (but not its individual contents) is Adapted Material; and
  337. c. You must comply with the conditions in Section 3(a) if You Share
  338. all or a substantial portion of the contents of the database.
  339. For the avoidance of doubt, this Section 4 supplements and does not
  340. replace Your obligations under this Public License where the Licensed
  341. Rights include other Copyright and Similar Rights.
  342. Section 5 -- Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability.
  343. a. UNLESS OTHERWISE SEPARATELY UNDERTAKEN BY THE LICENSOR, TO THE
  344. EXTENT POSSIBLE, THE LICENSOR OFFERS THE LICENSED MATERIAL AS-IS
  345. AND AS-AVAILABLE, AND MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF
  346. ANY KIND CONCERNING THE LICENSED MATERIAL, WHETHER EXPRESS,
  347. IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHER. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION,
  348. WARRANTIES OF TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
  349. PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ABSENCE OF LATENT OR OTHER DEFECTS,
  350. ACCURACY, OR THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF ERRORS, WHETHER OR NOT
  351. KNOWN OR DISCOVERABLE. WHERE DISCLAIMERS OF WARRANTIES ARE NOT
  352. ALLOWED IN FULL OR IN PART, THIS DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
  353. b. TO THE EXTENT POSSIBLE, IN NO EVENT WILL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE
  354. TO YOU ON ANY LEGAL THEORY (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION,
  355. NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE FOR ANY DIRECT, SPECIAL, INDIRECT,
  356. INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, OR OTHER LOSSES,
  357. COSTS, EXPENSES, OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THIS PUBLIC LICENSE OR
  358. USE OF THE LICENSED MATERIAL, EVEN IF THE LICENSOR HAS BEEN
  359. ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSSES, COSTS, EXPENSES, OR
  360. DAMAGES. WHERE A LIMITATION OF LIABILITY IS NOT ALLOWED IN FULL OR
  361. IN PART, THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
  362. c. The disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability provided
  363. above shall be interpreted in a manner that, to the extent
  364. possible, most closely approximates an absolute disclaimer and
  365. waiver of all liability.
  366. Section 6 -- Term and Termination.
  367. a. This Public License applies for the term of the Copyright and
  368. Similar Rights licensed here. However, if You fail to comply with
  369. this Public License, then Your rights under this Public License
  370. terminate automatically.
  371. b. Where Your right to use the Licensed Material has terminated under
  372. Section 6(a), it reinstates:
  373. 1. automatically as of the date the violation is cured, provided
  374. it is cured within 30 days of Your discovery of the
  375. violation; or
  376. 2. upon express reinstatement by the Licensor.
  377. For the avoidance of doubt, this Section 6(b) does not affect any
  378. right the Licensor may have to seek remedies for Your violations
  379. of this Public License.
  380. c. For the avoidance of doubt, the Licensor may also offer the
  381. Licensed Material under separate terms or conditions or stop
  382. distributing the Licensed Material at any time; however, doing so
  383. will not terminate this Public License.
  384. d. Sections 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 survive termination of this Public
  385. License.
  386. Section 7 -- Other Terms and Conditions.
  387. a. The Licensor shall not be bound by any additional or different
  388. terms or conditions communicated by You unless expressly agreed.
  389. b. Any arrangements, understandings, or agreements regarding the
  390. Licensed Material not stated herein are separate from and
  391. independent of the terms and conditions of this Public License.
  392. Section 8 -- Interpretation.
  393. a. For the avoidance of doubt, this Public License does not, and
  394. shall not be interpreted to, reduce, limit, restrict, or impose
  395. conditions on any use of the Licensed Material that could lawfully
  396. be made without permission under this Public License.
  397. b. To the extent possible, if any provision of this Public License is
  398. deemed unenforceable, it shall be automatically reformed to the
  399. minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. If the provision
  400. cannot be reformed, it shall be severed from this Public License
  401. without affecting the enforceability of the remaining terms and
  402. conditions.
  403. c. No term or condition of this Public License will be waived and no
  404. failure to comply consented to unless expressly agreed to by the
  405. Licensor.
  406. d. Nothing in this Public License constitutes or may be interpreted
  407. as a limitation upon, or waiver of, any privileges and immunities
  408. that apply to the Licensor or You, including from the legal
  409. processes of any jurisdiction or authority.
